Trusting God in the "As"

When the news came that their son was in ICU, Jan and her husband dropped everything to head to San Diego. It was their worst nightmare. His unfortunate decision led to his untimely death. Parents are not supposed to outlive their children. The Grounds for Hope theme verse came alive to Jan during the first month of wrapping her mind around this new reality. "May the God of hope fill you with all peace and joy as you trust in him..." (Romans 15:13). As God began enveloping her and her family in his love and comfort, the hope, peace and joy didn't come before or after she trusted, but AS she trusted. That little word packs a punch.
